Position Title Accounting Assistant (Calibr)
Position Summary:

Position Overview:
The Accounting Associate is primarily responsible for full cycle Accounts Payable, general accounting support, monthly account reconciliations, and preparing various accounting reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process full Accounts Payable cycle
  • Audit accounts payable invoices to purchase orders and packing slips
  • Assist with oversight of accounting process and ensure entries comply with GAAP and the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Code and enter accounts payable invoices into accounting software in a timely manner
  • Process weekly check run
  • Resolve accounts payable issues with vendors
  • Reconcile vendor statements and open purchase orders
  • Maintain all vendor information and files
  • Process expense reports and check requests
  • Assist with monthly financial closing
  • Process new vendor documents and enter in the system; prepare annual 1099 forms
  • Prepare quarterly sales/use tax return
  • Reconcile selected general ledger, bank and credit card accounts
  • Log checks received and prepares deposits, wires, and cash transfers
  • Cross train and assist with Purchasing and other general accounting duties
  • Assist with annual financial audit
  • Other duties or projects as may be assigned

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum two years of related experience using accounting software; MIP Fund Accounting software experience preferred
* General knowledge and implementation of accounting principles
* Non-profit accounting knowledge preferred
* Intermediate MS Excel skills
* Detail-oriented with demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, and strong data entry skills
* Possess effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
