The California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr) is a not-for-profit research institute located in La Jolla, California. Calibr is focused on innovative early-stage translational research in the areas of regenerative medicine, cancer biology, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, immunology and infectious disease.

Position Summary:
This position will serve as the Program Manager on programs to translate cellular immunotherapies into clinical trials for cancer. Specifically, the position will work closely with Calibr scientists on the development of a universal, switchable CAR-T cell therapy. The Program Manager will play an integral role in the team translating this novel cellular immunotherapy into first in human clinical trials for lymphoma in 2019. The Program Manager will also serve as alliance manager with external stakeholders on the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Serve as alliance manager to mediate Calibr’s interaction with external stakeholders in the development of novel cellular immunotherapies for cancer
* Responsible for collection of team reports, organization of project status presentations, and delivery to key stakeholders
* Drive project timelines to meet key milestones and benchmarks for success
* Develop and maintain project scopes, timelines, and resource plans
* Work within project teams to assess risks, identify key issues, carry out gap analyses, and develop solutions
* Ensures escalation of issues and risks that significantly affect timelines
* Participate in the scientific discourse to continuously improve programs and innovation
* Assist in the organization of reports and CRO/CMO documentation for regulatory filings

Basic Qualifications:

* Demonstrated experience in program management is essential
* PMP certification is preferred but not required
* Knowledge of biologics and/or immunotherapy development is required.
* Experience in preparation and maintenance of project timelines, budget, meeting agendas and minutes, and study reports is required.
* Experience in simultaneous management of multiple contracts with CROs/CMOs is required.
* Experience in GLP/GMP compliance and regulatory filings (INDs and BLAs) applicable to biologics strongly preferred.
* Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Projects and similar Gantting software is required.

* Ph.D. in biology, chemical biology, biochemistry or related areas with 3-7 years’ experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry (minimum 3+ years’ experience in immunotherapy)
* Minimum of 3 years in project leadership role or with Project Management experience
* Impeccable attention to details, and excellent ability to organize project designs and maintain detailed documentation
* Highly motivated, creative, and devoted to project goals
* Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues and management team
* Able to contribute in a meaningful way to scientific discourse
