The Communications Coordinator will play a critical role in helping develop an innovative, digital communication and education program for the All of Us Research Program participants, especially those individuals historically underrepresented in clinical research. The All of Us Research Program plans to enroll over one million participants from across the United States and its territories and to keep them engaged in the research program for at least 10 years primarily through ongoing digital communications. The Communications Coordinator will assist the STSI (Scripps Translational Science Institute) or TSRI (The Scripps Research Institute) All of Us Research Program team and partners to develop and manage the All of Us Research Program outreach and communications to Direct Volunteer members/participants.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the development, implementation, and expansion of the recruitment and retention campaigns and health communications and education initiatives for the All of Us Research Program Direct Volunteers.
Collaborate closely with the STSI team including Directors/Associate Directors, Designers, and Program Managers as well as TECH program partners such as Walgreens and WebMD to develop innovative communication strategies.
Engage in scientific exchange with key thought leaders and participants in the All of Us Research Program, which includes seeking insights through consulting and advisory boards, validating scientific platforms, and collaborating on educational initiatives.
Assist with plans and programs for All of Us leveraging the brand strategy and all appropriate channels (web, print, email, online, etc.) To perform this job successfully, an individual should value and utilize all available approaches to communications including a combination of text, audio, images, animation, and video.
Prepare reports and share with relevant stakeholders.
Performs other duties and tasks as required or requested.
This position works in a typical office environment. With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to sit and type at a computer terminal for up to 8 hours per day with appropriate breaks and perform tasks that require fine dexterity and repetitive motions using the arms, hands, wrists and fingers. Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, behavioral sciences or similar discipline or the equivalent training and experience required.
3+ years of relevant healthcare communications or behavioral science experience preferred.
A prolific content curator, creator, editor, and strategist who can confidently and effectively present information to staff and participants.
Ability to read, interpret, and work with subject matter experts to understand medical and health-related content such as clinical study reports, and clinical papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
Must work well in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize and work well in an ambiguous environment with competing demands.
Capable of devising communication plans geared towards measurable goals, identifying and implementing process improvements.
Experience working on federally-funded NIH grants
Experience applying social science research concepts and experimental methodologies to drive human behavior through communication strategies.
Experience with application of market research and data analysis.
$28.14 to $35.18 per hour. Where someone may fall within this range depends on internal equity, budget and experience.
