Position Title Contracts Analyst
Position Summary:

The Contracts Analyst provides administrative and contract support to the Office of Technology Development (OTD) and interacts with other departments within TSRI and entities outside TSRI. This role processes and tracks contracts, develops and manages digital files and databases, manages royalty invoicing, processing and distributions, and assists with federal reporting requirements.
* Works with faculty and staff to facilitate on-line requests, processing, and execution of Confidential Disclosure Agreements and Material Transfer Agreements.
* Responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating Confidential Disclosure Agreements and Material Transfer Agreements.
* Assists compliance coordinator with administrative needs associated with licensee/partner compliance in contractual matters.
* Assists compliance coordinator with federal reporting requirements and interface with other departments requiring departmental information for compliance purposes.
* Ensures manuscript submissions are in compliance with applicable journal, contract and sponsor requirements.
* Entry and tracking of agreements in Sophia (database) with transaction activity and documents; processes requests for archived documents.
* Provides back-up support in managing the flow of intellectual property to and from corporate partners.
* Prepares ad hoc reports including editing, proofreading, and formatting.
* Maintains all department filing, process correspondence, and other duties as assigned.
* Participates in staff meetings.
* Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree.
* Minimum of 3 years of contracts management or paralegal experience required.
* Ability to read and understand contracts including analyzing, identifying issues and processing transactions in a timely and consistent manner.
* Exceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detail; particular emphasis on accurately cross-referencing agreements, inventions and inventor information.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Database knowledge and experience; aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and take ownership of database (Wellspring Sophia) for OTD team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organization skills and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and the ability to work independently with little guidance from management.
* Must possess a cooperative, service-oriented attitude and be able to work under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor with colleagues and research staff.
* Demonstrated diplomacy and ability to maintain confidential information.
