|Position Summary:|| |
Responsible for basic financial grant management support for sponsored research projects and programs. Duties include: function as a financial advisor to scientific staff regarding grants and contracts; create new accounts; monitor all expenses; verify availability of funds and allowable expenses as dictated by funding agency; communicate new regulations and procedures; complete final expenditure reports; forecast future funding and associated expenses; act as liaison between labs and other departments at TSRI; and perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to sit and type at a computer terminal for up to 8 hours per day with appropriate breaks and perform tasks that require fine dexterity and repetitive motions using the arms, hands, wrists and fingers. |Basic Qualifications:|| |
Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Although an entry level position, some experience necessary in a financial environment. Prefer up to 2 years experience. Professional demeanor and solid spreadsheet skills are critical to this position. Good analytical, verbal and written communications skills. Attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new systems and applications. Must have effective time management skills in order to organize and prioritize workload, foresee problem areas, and seek immediate action. Must have the ability to multi-task while serving as a resource person for all contacts and providing a high level of customer service. Requires the ability to work independently, within tight timeframes, as well as excel in a collaborative environment. Knowledge and experience working with the NIH and/or other major granting agencies involving or related to post-award grant activities is highly desirable.
