Position Summary:

Scripps Research is an influential biomedical research institute that leads breakthrough studies addressing the world’s most pressing health concerns and educates and trains the next generation of scientists. We are looking for an exceptional multi-media specialist to be part of our Communications team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a collaborative environment in which the vision of each creative element is brought to life with purpose and innovation.

Position Description

* Working in a collaborative manner with other team members to develop ad-hoc creatives for print and web that support and enhance the established visual brand.
* Edit and create images for social channels, blog, and website.
* Catalog, organize and maintain a growing photo and graphic library.
* Develop infographics and statistical illustrations to be used across multiple media platforms.
* Design, develop and format print collateral such as fact sheets, brochures, donor proposals, philanthropic reports and event invitations.
* Correspond with print vendors and prepare files for production
* Design, develop and format on-screen collateral such as responsive evites and PowerPoint or Keynote presentations.
* Support web team with website content updates, as needed

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design (4+ Years)
* Collaborative work experience in an office setting (2+ Years)
* Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.: 2 years (Required), Microsoft Office Suite: 2 years (Required), HTML 5, HTML, XHTML, CSS: 2 years (Preferred)
* Photography: 2 years (Preferred)
* Must have the ability to handle multiple on-going projects, be able to switch gears quickly, and manage and meet deadlines
* Must be able to turn over images (from concept to implementation) quickly
* Be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
* Able to process creative feedback in a flexible and meaningful manner
* Must have 2 years of experience in graphic print and web layout
* Working knowledge of printing procedures spot and four-color process printing
* Experience with HTML 5, HTML, XHTML, CSS are a plus
* Ability to work independently, as well as be a part of a collaborative team
