Position Title Information Technology Analyst III
Position Summary:

This position specifically supports Linux operating systems and is responsible for all technologies and skills related to the configuration, installation, and maintenance of complex hardware and operating systems. Leads daily administration of servers and desktop workstations. Performs analysis of complex laboratory computer configurations. Provides technical assistance and consulting to users. Monitors and troubleshoots the environment for problems. Installs software upgrades when required. Performs installation, modification and repair of workstations and peripheral equipment.

With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to sit and type at a computer terminal for up to 8 hours per day with appropriate breaks and perform tasks that require fine dexterity and repetitive motions using the arms, hands, wrists and fingers. Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant Linux and UNIX system administration experience, or equivalent training and experience in a networked environment. Strong analytical, verbal and written communications skills. Working knowledge of file NFS, NIS and LDAP, Sendmail, host and network security. Proficient in high level programming languages, such as C, PERL, Java, sh/csh/tcsh/ksh, HTML, Javascript and associated tools. Understanding of Nagios host and network monitoring environment. VMware Workstation knowledge is essential.
