Position Title Intern Medicinal Chemistry
Position Summary:

The California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr) is seeking talented candidates to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of scientists focused on early stage translational research. Chemists in the medicinal chemistry group will work as part of a team of scientists to synthesize and characterize small molecules that represent new therapeutic approaches to unmet medical needs.
The intern will be optimizing the potency, pharmacokinetics, safety and in vivo efficacy of small molecules.

This is a temporary position.
This position is 40 hours per week.

Basic Qualifications:

* Current enrollment in a college/university educational program. Undergraduate enrolled in a relevant scientific program, e.g. chemistry or a related field biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences including laboratory experience required.
* Proven track record of organic synthesis in the classroom setting.
* Highly motivated, creative, and able to maintain excellent documentation.
* Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues and management teams.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong skills and a proven track record in synthetic organic chemistry, compound purification, and structural characterization.
* Research experience in synthetic or medicinal chemistry.
