Position Summary:

The Molecular Medicine Department is seeking an Intern to participate in a bioinformatics data analysis project that is expected to last up to 3 months. Seeking a person who has a strong computer science background with Java skill. Excellent opportunity to learn real-world bioinformatics.

Interns receive occupational experience, closely supervised training and are able to develop professional skills.

Part-time: Up to 19 hours per week.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
Project will last up to 3 months

Physical Requirements:

This position works in a typical office environment. With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to sit and type at a computer terminal for up to 8 hours per day with appropriate breaks and perform tasks that require fine dexterity and repetitive motions using the arms, hands, wrists and fingers. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires current enrollment in either a high school or college/university educational program. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; undergraduate preferred.  

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Computer Science major or equivalent experience
2. Solid java programming skill
3. Familiar to Unix environment
