Position Title Lab Coordinator
Position Summary:

The California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr) is seeking talented candidates to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a Lab Coordinator that will report to and support the Operations Manager. The Lab Coordinator is responsible for providing support to several lab departments for their day to day operations as well as administrative office support. This position is an entry level position into the Biotech Industry and will work with many lab departments including Biology, Chemistry, and Pharmacology.

Position Description

* Responsible for daily lab glass wash and autoclaving
* Perform daily lab maintenance
* Work with EHS department on various duties as assigned
oLabel biohazardous waste bag with Calibr generator info daily
oOrder Sharps containers and biohazardous waste bags when low
oFile safety data sheets weekly
oFile and update employee training records weekly
oWeekly walk through of lab to ensure all bio waste cans are labeled with bio symbol
oMake safety signs when needed
oNotify EHS of any overfilled waste containers
oMonthly inspection and stocking of 1st aid kits
oOrganize and maintain EHS rack weekly
* Assist Lab Ops team with specified projects as assigned
* Keeping schedule maintenance on required equipment.
* Organizing and data entry
* Track equipment requiring calibration, certification, etc.
* Assist calling service maintenance on equipment.
* Prep media, buffer, and antibiotic
* Keep inventory count of lab, office, and breakroom consumables and order when needed
* Perform daily maintenance on coffee machine, assist in troubleshooting or placing service call with vendor.
* Coordinate with delivery service distributing incoming packages.
* Daily management of Fisher onsite rep.
* Coordinate with upper management to set up of new lab space for onboarding staff
* Coordinate lab space allocations of bench, temperature storage equipment, and cold room

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained.
Microsoft Office skills preferred.
