Position Title Nurse Scientist
Position Summary:

The Nurse Scientist will work within the entire Scripps Translational Science Institute (STSI) team to lead the development, implementation and management of innovative participant-centric clinical studies that are enabled through the utilization of a wide range of digital medicine technologies. The research will, by design, help transform both clinical research and healthcare. A major focus will be to develop and lead innovative programs in support of the All of Us Precision Medicine Research Program. All of Us will enroll over one million participants from across the United States and its territories, and to keep them engaged in the research program for at least 10 years primarily through ongoing digital communications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and implementation of innovative, pragmatic digital medicine research programs working with a wide range of funders, e.g. NIH, non-government organizations, and industry
  • Provide recommendations, advice and input to PI’s and the Associate Directors
  • Collaborate extensively with internal and external partners to drive innovation
  • Present and publish the results of research programs
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and leadership to trainees and all STSI staff and faculty
  • Participate in the interview process and selection of qualified staff.

Basic Qualifications:

PhD in Nursing. A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience that included the creative application of innovative methodologies to develop solutions for real-world health problems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of clinical, patient care experience.
  • Prior experience with the use of digital health technologies in developing patient-centric solutions.
  • Experience in clinical trial design, development, and management.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Experience working on federally-funded NIH grants is a plus.
  • Track record of impactful scientific publications.
  • Experience with grant writing and submissions.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience.
