A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Scripps Research Institute on Jupiter, Florida campus to participate in developing treatments for devastating neurodevelopmental disorder GNAO1. The position is supported by the fellowship from the Child’s Cure Genetic Research. The project offers a unique opportunity to leverage the state of the art translational capabilities of the Institute to develop innovative pharmaco-genetic strategies for disease correction while participating in basic research on neuronal signaling mechanisms. The laboratory takes multidisciplinary approach combining genetic mouse models, proteomics, electrophysiology, imaging, and innovative optical sensor technologies to study neuronal signaling and develop corrective strategies for neuropsychiatric disorders.

Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.
|Preferred Qualifications:|| |
We are looking for a highly-motivated and self-driven individual who wishes to work creatively in an independent setting. Successful candidates will have an extensive research experience as evidenced by a strong publication record.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: (1) molecular genetic approaches to study cellular signaling (2) neuronal cell cultures and iPS technology, (3) Animal models of disease (3) viral transduction approaches and (4) optical reporter assays. We encourage applications from highly experienced candidates and compensation will commensurate with experience level.
