The successful candidate will be responsible for early drug discovery initiatives focusing on novel cell-based functional high-throughput screening (HTS) drug-discovery assay development. This opportunity is for individuals seeking to be trained in advanced skills for industrial scale HTS and procedures relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible to developing and optimizing a variety of assays and implement them for screening on a fully automated HTS platform. This will require them to perform molecular biology techniques, including subcloning and generation of expression vectors to create stable mammalian cell lines. Some focus will include 3D tissue culture models, iPSC scaling and induction for screening in physiologically relevant human models. The chosen candidate will be trained to operate and troubleshoot automated liquid handling and analytical equipment as well as to utilize a variety of spreadsheet and data management software systems to generate, analyze, and report data from research efforts.
A Postdoctoral Associate is a direct pay individual in a Division 3 status. Postdoctoral Associates are appointed positions for the purpose of developing scholarly competence, working under the supervision of a TSRI Faculty member. These appointments are normally not renewed beyond a total of six years. Postdoctoral Associates cannot apply for external funding either as a Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator without prior approval from a Departmental Chair. Postdoctoral Associates do not have consulting privileges.

|Basic Qualifications:|| |
Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry or Engineering sciences. Background in mammalian cell culture & cloning. Proficiency with operation of common laboratory and analytical equipment. Proven ability to work with high content imaging, 3D tissue culture, CRISPR and iPSCs would be a major advantage. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and desire to work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary collaborative team.
