Position Title Postdoctoral Associate
Position Summary:

We are seeking candidates for a funded postdoctoral position effective August 1, 2018, focused on the development of integrated chemical tools to study the roles of glycans in embryonic stem cell biology. Technical skills in organic synthesis, molecular biology, cell biology, or previous experience with glycoscience are highly desired, but creativity, critical thinking and enthusiasm to be pioneers in a budding research group are emphasized. We are a young laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute-Florida that aims to unveil and exploit the molecular underpinnings of glycan-regulated biological events.

Fellows will be advised by Prof. Mia Huang, with opportunities to collaborate with faculty members in a variety of disciplines appropriate to the candidate’s interests. The Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida offers a rich scholarly environment for chemical biology and biomedical research, and fellows benefit from a vibrant Postdoctoral Services Office Together, the PI and the Institute are committed to each individual’s career development.

Physical Requirements:

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular or Cellular Biology is required.
