Position Title Principal Scientist
Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented principal investigator to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of scientists focused on early stage translational research. As an principal scientist in chemistry, you will lead projects and a team with research associates, post-doctoral scientists and various CROs to synthesize and evaluate small molecules that represent new therapeutic approaches to unmet medical needs. Work will be published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and optimized compounds for partnerships with various for-profit and non-profit organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform medicinal chemistry at the bench while demonstrating highly successful project leadership across several disease areas with in-house and CRO resources.
* Ability to manage research associates and CRO resources.
* Candidate must have ability to integrate pharmacology and toxicology data to optimize candidates to IND/first in human studies.
* Profound literature search skills, with the ability to generate new project proposals and maintain a pipeline for successful pre-clinical candidates.
* Highly motivated, creative, and able to maintain excellent documentation of their work including writing grant applications and third-party partnership plans.
* Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues, project management and senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

* Candidates must have Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry with 2-5 years of experience in medicinal chemistry.
* Strong skills and a proven track record in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry (hit to lead and lead optimization).
* Involvement in IND-enabling activities are highly preferred.
* Demonstration of highly successful project execution across disease areas using in-house and CRO resources leading to preclinical candidates for further clinical development.
