Working within the Ron Davis laboratory, the selected candidate will perform a variety of scientific experiments and laboratory duties. These include the care and husbandry of the laboratory’s mouse colony and dissection of mouse brains to establish primary neuronal cultures for subsequent scientific experiments. In addition, the successful candidate will be part of a team involved in cell-based screens for small molecules that influence neuronal function as potential drug candidates. The successful candidate will work both independently and in collaboration with other laboratory personnel to include the design, completion, troubleshooting and interpretation of scientific experiments of the type identified above. Other duties and tasks may be required or assigned as needed.

|Basic Qualifications:|| |
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 1-3 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 0-2 years experience required.
|Preferred Qualifications:|| |
Some experience with mouse husbandry is preferred. The position requires an individual who is well organized, self-motivated, and has high standards of excellence. The individual should be forward thinking and creative with high ethical standards.
