Position Summary:

A position is available for a highly motivated and organized individual to join a multidisciplinary effort to study obesity-linked diabetes and metabolic diseases.
This position involves working with small laboratory animals. The individual will contribute simultaneously to various projects. The position primarily involves bench work conducting scientific experiments, but also includes lab organizational tasks.

Physical Requirements:

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 1-3 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 0-2 years experience required.

  • Experience in molecular biology, biochemical techniques, and mammalian tissue culture are required.
  • Strong interest in metabolic disease is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to thrive in both an individual and team-oriented setting, and superior organizational and record-keeping skills are essential.
  • Must be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and interacts well with others.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays, molecular cloning, protein purification, and small laboratory animal handling are preferred.

Compensation: $20.07-$25.06 per hour budgeted hiring range.
