Position Title Research Assistant II
Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, independently and in collaboration with others conduct a wide variety of assays including: cell-based reporter assays, immunofluorescence, western blotting, enzyme kinetics, protein-binding assays, and qPCR. The productive candidate will be able to analyze data and interpret results; investigate, troubleshoot and modify methods as necessary; assist in designing experiments. The candidate may be expected to provide routine equipment maintenance as well as guidance/training to other department personnel; perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 3-5 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 2+ years experience required.
* Experience with mammalian cell culture, Western blot analysis and qRT PCR analysis.
* Experience with enzyme kinetics and enzymatic assay development.
* Must be able to follow detailed instructions in the performance of experiments.
* Must be able to interpret results and will be responsible for accurate scientific research, documentation of results, and the evaluation/analysis of data.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with rodent pharmacology.
* Lentivirus production experience.
* Cell and biochemical assay development and miniaturization experience.
* Basic understanding of organic chemistry, microscopy and flow-cytometry.

Compensation: $49,920 - $57,408 per year budgeted hiring range.
