Position Summary:

This position involves performing a variety of tasks including mouse-handling, planning and executing breeding schemes for mouse colony (husbandry and genotyping), managing colony-related communications, ordering supplies, and preparing reagents for lab use.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 3-5 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 2+ years experience required.
Self-motivated candidate sought for animal colony and lab management in retinal research lab. Necessary skills include mouse-handling, detailed record-keeping, communicating with other departments and vendors, excellent written and verbal communication, working semi-independently, and learning new techniques as necessary. May include basic molecular- and cell-biology bench techniques, data collection and analyses with supervision. Minimum 1 year mouse-handling experience, 3-5 years research experience with Bachelors degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Rodent colony management experience.

Compensation: $22.08- 27.60 per hour budgeted amount.
