Position Summary:

The laboratory is working on vaccine development for diverse viral pathogens. The experimental techniques used in the laboratory include molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, protein production and purification, lipid nanoparticle formulation, antigen characterization by ELISA and BLI, animal immunization, pseudo-virus neutralization assay, antibody phage display, single B-cell sorting, and next-generation sequencing. This individual will assist senior researchers in the laboratory and contribute to various projects involving animal immunization.
Will perform these essential functions

  • immunization scheduling and animal ordering
  • subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, and intravenous injections of animals with protein or mRNA vaccines
  • tissue harvest with organs of interest removed from the animal in a timely and proficient manner
  • mouse hybridoma and antibody isolation
  • immunological assays to characterize antigen-induced response and perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Physical Requirements:

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 3-5 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 2+ years experience required.
A minimum of three years of hands on research experience with the techniques listed above is required. Prior experience in hybridoma and basic immunological assays is a big plus. Must be motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn and have good organizational skills with neat record keeping & good time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Compensation: $45,926- $57,408 per year budgeted hiring range
