Position Summary:

The California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr) is seeking talented candidates to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of scientists focused on early stage translational research. Chemists in the medicinal chemistry group will work as part of a team of scientists to synthesize and characterize small molecules that represent new therapeutic approaches to unmet medical needs. The researcher will be optimizing the potency, pharmacokinetics, safety and in vivo efficacy of small molecules.

Basic Qualifications:

* BSc. or Masters in chemistry or a related field (biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences).
* 0-6 years’ experience in a medicinal chemistry role.
* Proven track record of organic synthesis and the ability to optimize reactions in a timely manner.
* Strong skills and a proven track record in synthetic organic chemistry, compound purification, and structural characterization.
* Profound literature search skills, the ability to design and improve synthetic routes to support SAR studies and deliver compound in large scale in timely manner.
* Highly motivated, creative, and able to maintain excellent documentation of their work.
* Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues and management teams.
Successful candidates for the position must have a proven track record of publication and extensive research experience in synthetic or medicinal chemistry, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and a strong work ethic.
