We seek a software and hardware person who can help develop our website systems that are a critical part of the Center. The individual will benefit both our core functions and be a part of cutting edge research, impacting tens of thousands of online users, and creating new technologies to help the field of metabolism and metabolomics. The right person will be able to put their stamp on and help redesign one the largest systems in the field. In addition to developing, they will also need to maintain the extensive existing systems and hardware. We host all of our own infrastructure in our own server room within the lab. We are a highly inter-displinary lab and excellent communication skills are required. The candidate will also need to communicate their ideas, issues and future developments with the rest of the internal IT team and to communicate with the non-specialist members of the lab. We often host online and in person events, presenting novel research and new findings, the candidate will be able to gain valuable public speaking in front of hundreds to thousands to people and online viewers. Specifically the person will be responsible for : * Work with staff to help develop online tools including the labs main customer information system. * Help implement high throughput PK studies with collaborators * Applicant must be used to working on multiple coding projects and have good coding practices for backing up and sharing code in our internal code repository. * Implement and use a testing suite for automated code testing * Research and test new technologies to improve online tools across our different instrument platforms. * Teaching of developed system and newly acquired softwares to users of the core * Work with core staff to address on-going IT needs and help to automate their workflows * Maintain infrastructure that supports the core’s websites * Maintain, monitor and optimize websites and servers built with the following technologies * Test instrumentation and informatic software * Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.
This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

$19.58- $24.45 per hour budgeted hiring range.
