We seek a programmer with experience with high-performance code to develop and maintain the next generation of AutoDock, the most widely used software to perform molecular docking simulations. We are a highly interdisciplinary laboratory that combines several skills, including chemistry, to biology, physics, and mathematics. Our software is freely distributed and used in research centers around the world, with a wide user base counting thousands of active members. The position will be involved in at least one NIH-funded project for cutting edge research aimed at developing methods for drug design, and apply them in collaborations with other laboratories within and outside the institute. Specifically, the person will be responsible for developing the core libraries and the main docking engine, in collaboration with the other members of the lab.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. A degree in a biological or chemical science may be accepted if applicable to the science. developed/performed in the individual lab.
Minimum of two years experience in developing efficient and maintainable C++ code.
An advanced degree in a field directly related to the science developed/performed (e.g., physics, chemistry) may be accepted in lieu of some experience (e.g. Master’s degree in lieu of 1-2 years’ experience or Ph.D. in lieu of 2-3 years’ experience), depending upon the candidate CV.
