Working within the Ron Davis laboratory, the selected candidate will perform a variety of scientific experiments and laboratory duties. These include the care and husbandry of the Drosophila stocks, screening newly generated lines for altered memory formation, and possible dissection and microscopy of Drosophila brains for immunohistochemistry. The successful candidate will work both independently and in collaboration with other laboratory personnel to include the design, completion, troubleshooting and interpretation of scientific experiments of the type identified above. Other duties and tasks may be required or assigned as needed.

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
|Basic Qualifications:|| |
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience. Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
|Preferred Qualifications:|| |
Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. Prior experience with Drosophila is not required but is an advantage. The position requires an individual who is well organized, self-motivated, and has high standards of excellence. The individual should be forward thinking and creative with high ethical standards.
Florida & Palm Beach County residents are preferred.
