The Immunology and Microbiology at Scripps Research is seeking a Research Technician. Responsibilities include:
1) Learn and perform basic experimental procedures in molecular and cell biology: DNA preparation and characterization, basic cloning procedures.

Perform a variety of routine scientific tasks; may prepare test specimens; set up and operate standard lab equipment of moderate complexity; record data providing basic analyses and interpretations; may perform a limited number of non-repetitive procedures; perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
|Basic Qualifications:|| |
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience. Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
|Preferred Qualifications:|| |
Degree major in biology/chemistry. Basic practical knowledge of molecular and cell biology procedures. Good organizational skills. Able to learn and conduct experiments with animal models of infection (mouse).
|Compensation:||Budgeted Hourly Rate $18.13-$22.19|
