Position Title Research Technician
Position Summary:

A Research Technician position is available immediately, for a self-motivated research assistant I to become part of the development and deployment of a novel technology for analysis of polyclonal antibody responses. The successful candidate will perform routine scientific tasks with a focus on protein production, purification (size exclusion and affinity chromatography), digestion, and characterization (ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot).

The candidate will process specimens of human or animal origin for analysis by electron microscopy and mass spectrometry, will set up and operate standard lab equipment as well as equipment of moderate to high complexity, record data, and provide basic analyses and interpretations.

The responsibility of the job also includes performing molecular biology procedures such as cloning of plasmid DNA, PCR, expression of novel recombinant proteins and other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 1-3 years’ experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 1-2 years’ experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Research experience that provides practical familiarity with immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and general laboratory procedures.

Compensation: Budgeted hour date $18.13-$22.19
