|Position Summary:|| |
The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) also known as Scripps Research is currently seeking a Research Technician for its Florida campus.
Working within the Ron Davis laboratory, the selected candidate will perform a variety of scientific experiments and laboratory duties.
These include the care and husbandry of the laboratory’s mouse colony and dissection of mouse brains to establish primary neuronal cultures for subsequent scientific experiments.
In addition, the successful candidate will be part of a team involved in cell-based screens for small molecules that influence neuronal function as potential drug candidates. The successful candidate will work both independently and in collaboration with other laboratory personnel to include the design, completion, troubleshooting and interpretation of scientific experiments of the type identified above. Other duties and tasks may be required or assigned as needed.

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
|Basic Qualifications:|| |
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience. Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
|Preferred Qualifications:|| |
Some experience with mouse husbandry is preferred. The position requires an individual who is well organized, self-motivated, and has high standards of excellence. The individual should be forward thinking and creative with high ethical standards.
Florida & Palm Beach county residents are preferred.
